imagesshanhaiguan山海关Shanhaiguan. Shan Hai Guan. Literally: "Where the mountains meet the sea". It's the place where The Great Wall ends at the Bo Hai Sea - the eastern terminus of the Great Wall. I visited Shanhaiguan in the Spring of 2001. It was my second time on the Great Wall (see beijing for my first trip).
