new years day

This has become a Hangzhou tradition - New Year's Day lunch with Angela and Vivian. Angela and Vivian are two of the first friends I had in Hangzhou. On January 1, 2002 they invited me to have New Year's Day lunch at the restaurant at Yellow Dragon Stadium where Angela's brother was Chief Chef. In 2003, it was a Korean restaurant - but I forgot to bring the camera. In 2004, it was Thai food at the Banana Leaf. In 2005, it was Dongbei food. 2006, marked our 5th year. I guess that makes it a tradition. We had lunch at Ling Long Town Restaurant on Nan Shan Lu.

This year, 2007, we had a strange but fun lunch.
Hooters has
opened a branch in Hangzhou to go along with it's two stores in Shanghai. So
I introduced Vivian and Angela to some real American food and customer
service, albeit staffed with Chinese hooters.
As the pictures below show, over
6 years, I get fatter and older, but Angela and Vivian haven't aged a bit.
